Safety

Fly By Drones is fully aware of the fact that working with drones can be risky, no matter what safety measures are taken and modus operandi are implemented. Even if you work with the safest equipment on the market, the most highly trained and experienced pilots, in the most precautious way, the risk exists …

Fly By Drones’ detailed Standard Safety Operations Procedures, Security Protocols and Emergency Processes are forming the backbone of a highly efficient, safe and secured operation. Only in that way Fly By Drones can minimize the risk in certain unforeseen and/or undesirable circumstances.

Fly By Drones’ Safety and Security modus operandi for every project:

  • Preparation:

    • Site visit by HSSE staff -> Site situation sketch -> Site flight protocol & plan/manual creation.

      • Establishment of safe launch/landing site(s).

      • Evaluation of local obstacles and potential hazards.

      • Assessment of line of sight for the whole site.

    • Check and request for official flight authorizations(s).

      • Comparison between the ‘No fly zones’ of the operation site versus the local official one (AACR/DJI).

      • AACR.

      • Ministry of Defense (department: Aviation, Drones).

    • Selection and preparation of the security and safety equipment.

      • Launch/landing platform(s).

      • Information and warning signs (Public awareness).

      • Demarcation materials (Public notice).

      • Emergency first-aid kit

    • Listing of local services.

      • Emergency services.

      • Authorities.

      • Established point of contact.

    • Selection of the team and staff.

      • Pilots and photographers/cameramans.

        • Properly certified pilots.

        • Fully trained and experienced pilots.

        • Selection based on:

          • Experience in likewise projects.

          • Experience with the chosen

        • HSSE project supervisor.

        • Project responsible.

  • Selection of the best suitable equipment to operate in the safest and secured manner.

    • Drones

    • Lenses

    • Payloads

  • Technical components check and test. (Software updates, battery levels, sensors, signal quality, propellers state, beacon lights…).

  • Fail-safe / Return To Home

    • Check of weather forecast (live cloud formation analysis for the past hours, wind speed and direction…)

    • Project and flight plan discussions:

      • Internally with all operators involved.

      • Externally with the client.

Only after the green light from all parties involved, the Chief Operations Officer approves the project.
A top safe and secured way of operating is prior to all commercial and any financial motives; it is the main and final parameter to proceed with the operation!

The final ‘GO!’ for the start of the project is given by the HSSE officer minutes before the launch of the drone.

“Our best tools are our safety rules…”

“Tomorrow…Your reward for working safe today…”

“The safe way is the only way!”
